Welcome!

Monthly Meetings

Time: The 2nd Tuesday every month from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM.

Every month (unless otherwise noted), the Drupal developers across campus meet up to discuss the latest trends in Drupal development, Georgia Tech-specific issues and practices, and share projects and development with the community.

Microsoft Team

The Georgia Tech Drupal Users Group communications via a campus Microsoft Teams group. Microsoft Teams is the Microsoft-equivalent of Slack.

We use the team "GT Drupal Users Group". To join the group, follow the directions below:

  1. Download a Microsoft Teams client onto your computer, tablet, or mobile device, or you can simply use the Microsoft Teams web application.
  2. Follow our custom Drupal Users Group link, which should open up the Microsoft Teams application.
  3. Log in with your Georgia Tech account and password.
  4. On the left-hand side, select "Teams" and look for "Join or create a team".
  5. Under "Join a team with a code", copy and paste our team code: 0l5a64q
  6. Select "Join team" to be added.

This process should be instantaneous. Please see similar documentation from the OIT eSignature team for screenshots of the process.

Drupal Handbooks

Both the Drupal Editors handbook and the Drupal Administrators / Developers handbook have been merged into the Resources for Webmasters website and can be accessed there.  If you should find a page missing that you believe should have been copied over, please email webmasters@gatech.edu and let us know.

If you want to jump straight to the Drupal content, it has been organized on a Drupal shelf, split out into three books:

Drupal Express

Drupal Express is a customized installation of Drupal 10 that is developed and maintained by Institute Communications. It is a means for administrative offices, research labs, groups, special events, faculty members, and student organizations to build their site in Drupal without having to start completely from scratch.

To get started with a Drupal Express site, request a new OIT Web Hosting account and select the option to have Drupal Express automatically installed into that account.

Note: If you only need a very simple website, you should consider other solutions, such as Sites at Georgia Tech.
