DUG: Drupal Site Setup Notes

Notes on the setup of the drupal.gatech.edu site.

  • The user roles "leadership", "advisory" and "editor" are not permission granting roles, but just categorization roles as follows:
    • leadership = User who is on the Georgia Tech Drupal User's Group leadership board
    • advisory = User who is on the Georgia Tech Drupal User's Group advisory board
    • editor = User who, at the time of the Drupal 7 to Drupal 8 site conversion, had edited at least one page on the site

DUG: Setting Up Microphones for WebEx Meetings

Setup #1: Using Two Microphones at the Same Time

This arrangement is ideal for a large room or any room with a large table.

Main Tips

The two keys to making the "use both microphones" setup work are:

  1. set the microphones FAR APART (or else they will interfere with each other), and
  2. hook up all the cables correctly (and slightly differently) for each microphone.

Primary Microphone

Even though the two microphones are identical, you must choose one to be primary when using BOTH and then follow these steps:

DUG: Reserving Rooms for Monthly Meetings / Help Sessions

You can reserve up to one (1) year into the future, and should probably do so after each month's meeting, since some rooms are very popular.

Editor's Note:  These instructions were for the old Virtual EMS system, so they probably are inaccurate, but they do give the right details.  You'll just have to figure out where those details go.  Of course, feel free to update this page with the correct instructions and then remove this note.

  • s1.drupal.gatech.edu - dx.drupal.gatech.edu / repo.drupal.gatech.edu : Drupal Express and Drupal 7 Repository [Drupal 7]  -- We still have limited access to this for historical purposes, but most maintenance should be done by Institute Communications, and any configuration changes should be vetted with them first.

Monthly Meeting Notes on Website

Add each month's notes/agendas to the current Meeting Agendas page with the following format:

Enter the atrium via the south doors.  You will see the two large auditoriums directly in front of you.  Turn left and take either the elevators (to your right) or the stairs (through door to your left) up to the second floor.  From the second floor elevator lobby, go back out to the atrium and the conference room will be on the right.

Chapin 220/230

Go up the stairs or elevator to the second floor, then go towards the back of the building, through the large open lab room to the conference room at the back of the lab
